Fitness Fun Friday: Aquatic Exercise Fun!

Even if you're reading this and you don't close enough to the Clive Aquatic Center to go, it's a GREAT reminder of the benefits of exercising in water! The resistance of the water provides an effective workout without a lot of stress on your joints. Ask around and see if there are times your local pools are open just for exercising and give it a try!

"Studies prove swimming benefits health! Dr. Steven Blair, exercise science professor at the university of South Carolina, showed swimmers have higher cardio-respiratory fitness than walkers and sedentary participants. Get up early and start your metabolism with lap swimming when the pool isn’t crowded with children."
"Water walking is a non-impact form of exercise using the water for resistance, done in the lazy river against the current for added resistance."   

Drop-in Monday, Wednesday Friday from June 11 - August 3 (closed July 4)
$3, $2 if 55+ or season pass holder
6:15 - 8 am

  1. What a great idea...LOL...! We didn't end up getting in this morning because of the lightning, but we're going to try on another Friday! Let me know if you're ever going from 6:15-7:15am. ;o) Carolyn

  2. I will do that! I just talked to my mom about this and she said the pool in WDM by Hope does it from 5:30-6:30 pm and that she and my dad were already talking about trying it. :)
