I hear from clients often that their energy level is lower than usual. They either are struggling through workouts or can't find the energy they need in the afternoon to get through work or both. Here's the questions I immediately will ask them:
- How have you been sleeping and how many hours have you been sleeping?
- How's your nutrition been?
- When was your last rest day (from workouts)?
- Are you really stressed?
Likely more than one of these questions will lead us into a discussion about how to remove those things that are causing the low energy.
- Get at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, get into a bedtime routine and finish eating at least 2 hours before going to bed.
- Limit processed foods and refind sugars and focus on whole foods and clean choices.
- If you are overtraining your body will begin to break down muscle and use it as fuel. You'll feel run down, very sore and you're doing much more harm than good.
- Stress can cause all sorts of problems in our body both emotionally and physcially. Meditation, counseling, adjustments, massage and exercise are just some of the ways to reduce stressors that zap us of all our energy.
Take care of your body, it's the only one you've got!!!
