Trainer Talk Tuesday

My good friend and fellow Crossfitter, Beverly, was talking with me after a workout the other day about how often you hear people say negative things about their body or their abilities during a workout. It seems we are quick to point out what our limitations are, what we can't do (HATE the word can't!), what we wish our bodies could do, what we wish our bodies looked like...

When in reality our bodies, each and every one of our bodies, can do so much and has a unique history to prove it! My body has given me 2 children, it allowed me to play sports all through high school, it can carry both kids on my hips for long distances while they scream and resist mid-tantrum, it has lost and gained well over 100 lbs in the last 15 years, my body allows me to get down on the floor and wrestle with my kids then pop back up and chase after them...my body can push through tough workouts, recover then do it all over again the next day.

I came up with those things in about 3 minutes. Your homework is to do the same...right now. Take 3 minutes and write down at least 5 things about your body...something it's done or can do right now! Celebrate the CAN'S today and celebrate the body you have RIGHT NOW...because after reading that list I can honestly say I don't wish to have anyone else's...and you shouldn't either!
