Exercise...It's So Mental!

Eat Better:
I'm always on the lookout for breakfast recipes as eggs can get rather boring day in and day out. Here's one from PaleOMG.com I just might be brave enough to try...sounds good! What do you think?
Move Better:
As the weather gets nice don't  underestimate the exercise you get just by playing outdoors! Mowing, gardening, playing sports with the kids, swimming, walking, biking, washing the car...it all adds up! The sun and the sidewalk are the only reasons you need to get outdoors and burn some calories!

Amy's Corner:
My kids love to say things like, "Raise your hand if you like the color pink!" Even if it's just us 3 in the room, it's a game that goes on and on and on....
 
So, here's one for you! Raise your hand if you play games in your head to get through tough workouts. I would wager to bet most hands are in the air. Exercise is so mental, isn't it??? So, let's look at some of my quirky ways of getting through intense workouts and see if you can relate or even find one you want to try!
  • Count reps backwards so I end at 1
  • Divide large rep counts into feasible numbers, 21 = 11, take a rest, then 10
  • Repeat a positive saying over and over and over in my head
  • Turn on a favorite song that gets me going
  • Envision how it'll feel to be done
  • Remember the things I've accomplished that were much harder
  • Set goals, whether it be reps or running to a certain building, before resting
  • Pretend my kids are watching and cheering me on

A group fitness class in an outdoor, encouraging non-intimidating environment! Fat blasting, full body workouts with body weight and minimal equipment while you get to know others! Kids are free to play on the playground while we workout but no supervision is provided.

There's no better example of living a healthy lifestyle than working out with your kids! Come to this fun, 45 minute class once a week where you and your children can workout together outside and learn ways to workout right at home as a family! We'll discuss good nutritional choices and ways they can take responsibility for their healthy choices too!
