Trainer Talk Tuesday

Ever workout and wonder why today if feels so much harder than it should be? Why you were able to do a similar workout the week prior but today it feels tough and you're not sure why?

I hear this a lot from clients and it happens to me too! There's many reasons why this can happen. You may be in need of a rest day. When was your last workout and how is your body recovering? You may be reacting physically to outside stressors. Have you been stressed at work/home in a way that can be taxing you mentally and physically? You may need more sleep. Are you getting at least 6 hours of sleep a night and is it restful sleep? You may not be fueling properly. Are you eating breakfast within 30 minutes of waking and are you choosing some 'quick carbs' pre-workout and carbs/protein for post-workout recovery?

Being in tune with your body and what it needs takes practice and time. Don't be quick to assume the workout is hard just because you're out of shape or because you had that donut last Sunday. It's likely your body telling you something is 'off" and needs addressed. Listen and respond...your body will thank you :)
