Workout that Works Wednesday: Backyard Burn

My daughter has been sick since Monday afternoon which means I'm a fulltime cuddler and caretaker...a roll that I love to assume but I hate the helpless feeling when your kiddo is just miserable and you can't take it away.

That said, training and my workouts are secondary by a long shot but still possible to sneak in. Today while she's fast asleep during naptime I am going to head out to the backyard with a mat for a quick workout. One of my favorite quick workouts when I need a good "burn" in not a lot of time is to do a set amount of reps of squats, jumping situps or hollow rocks, burpees, lunges and pushups. Today I'm shooting for 100 of each. I usually break them up into 25 reps of each for 4 rounds. You could do any number of reps from 20 up to 200 depending on your fitness level and time available, and you can choose any exercises. I like to incorporate upper body, lower body and core so that it's a full body workout.

Then it's inside for a shower and some rest time myself...afterall, we care for others best when we are at 100%!
