Things You Should Know Thursday: Get Moving!

According to The Lancet [] report, 31.1 percent of adults worldwide, or roughly 1.5 billion people, don’t meet the minimum recommendation of 150 minutes of moderate activity per week (about 20 minutes a day).

The Lancet series also shows that more than 80 percent of young people ages 13-15 worldwide aren’t vigorously exercising for one hour each day, the amount recommended for their age group.
Roughly 5.3 million people a year worldwide die from diseases tied to inactivity.

Got your attention?? There is a worldwide epidemic in declining health. Increased childhood obesity and skyrocketing healthcare costs are just two of the major global issues that are caused by sedentary lifestyles.

What's that mean to you and me?? We need to get moving ...not just for the sake of smaller jeans but for our overall health and the health of the generation watching us and doing as we do! Off my soapbox for now...time to get moving :)
